LESSON 1: WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES ABOUT GOD

And there is only one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a unity of three coeternal persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, superior to all, and omnipresent. He is infinite and beyond human comprehension, although he can be known through his self-revelation. He is forever worthy of reverence, worship, and service by all creation (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Timothy 1:17; Rev 14:7)

1) How many gods are there? (Deuteronomy 6:4 / Ephesians 4:6)

Hear, Israel: Jehovah our God, Jehovah is one / One God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all. Answer: One God.

2) What is the nature of God? (St. John 4:24).

God is Spirit; and those who adore him, in spirit and in truth it is necessary that they adore.  R = God is Spirit.  Note: God is not matter for us to imagine and make images of Him and must be worshiped in Spirit only by faith, and in truth because it is according to the Bible.

3) What are the three divine persons of God? (2 Corinthians 13:14).

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen..  Answer: the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

4) What is the character of God? (1 John 4:8).

He who does not love has not known God; because God is love. Answer: God is Love.

5) How does God consider us? (1 John 3:1-2).

Look what love the Father has given us, so that we may be called children of God; for this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and what we are to be has not yet been manifested; but we know that when he appears, we will be like him, because we will see him just like him . Answer: Like his sons.

6) Does God care about us? (Psalm 40:1-3/1 Peter 5:7)

And patiently I waited for the Lord, and he leaned down to me, and heard my cry. And he made me get out of the pit of despair, from the miry mud; He put my feet on the rock, and he straightened my steps. He then put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God. Many shall see this, and fear, And trust in the Lord / Casting all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you.  Answer: Yes.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

1) Respect the name of God (Exodus 20:7).

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

2. Obey God (Acts 5:29).

Answering Peter and the apostles, they said: It is necessary to obey God before men.

3. Put God first (Matthew 6:33)

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

4. Love God with all your heart (Matthew 22:37).

Jesus said to him: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

AN EXTRA STUDY: THE QUALITIES OF GOD.

1) God is Eternal : From the beginning you founded the earth,

And the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain;

And all of them will grow old like a garment; You will change them like a garment, and they will be changed; But you are the same, and your years will not end (Psalm 102:25-27).

—But the mercy of the Lord is from eternity to eternity toward those who fear him (Psalm 103:17).

2) God is Omnipresent: “This means that God is present everywhere: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the earth, to show his power in favor of those who have a perfect heart toward him. Foolishly you have proceeded in this; therefore there will be more war against you from now on” (2 Chronicles 16:9). —“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, looking at the bad and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). —“Where will I go from your spirit? And where will I flee from your presence? If he ascended to heaven, you are there; and if in Sheol (grave) I made my footstool, there you are” (Psalms 139:7-8).

3) God is Almighty: "This means that God is all-powerful:

“—I am the Almighty God, walk before me and be perfect” (Genesis 17:1). “...  “—but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). "—...for the Lord our Almighty God reigns" (Rev. 19:6).

“—Once God spoke; I have heard this twice, that power is from God” (Psalm 62:11).

4) God is Omniscient : "This means that God knows all things: —"For the word is not yet in my tongue and you, Jehovah, already know everything" (Psalms 139:4). —“... greater than our heart is God, and he knows all things” (1 John 3:20). —"... rather all things are naked and open to the eyes of him with whom we must give account" (Hebrews 4:13). ′′ Jesus writing the name of all the... More they said this tempting him, to be able to accuse him. But Jesus, leaning towards the ground, wrote on the ground with his finger. And as they insisted on asking him, he straightened up and said to them: He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her (John 8: 6-7).

WHAT IS THE CHARACTER OF GOD LIKE?

1) God is Holy.

God is sinless, absolutely pure: "You shall be holy, for I am holy, the LORD your God" (Leviticus 19:2).

—But , as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your way of living; for it is written: Be holy, for I am holy   (1 Peter 1:15-16).

2) God is eternal:

For thus said the High and Exalted, the One who dwells in eternity, and whose name is the Holy One: I dwell in height and holiness, and with the broken and humble in spirit, to make the spirit of the humble live, and to quicken the hearts of the brokenhearted (Isaiah 57:15).

And: You, O Lord, in the beginning you founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; And all of them will grow old like a garment, and you will wrap them like a garment, and they will be changed; But you are the same, and your years will not end (Hebrews 1:10-12)

—“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

3) God is Just:  God is just and impartial in judgment: “He is a God of truth and there is no evil in him; he is just and upright ”(Deuteronomy 32: 4).

—My little children, these things I write to you so that you do not sin; And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2:1).

4) God is perfect  (Matthew 5:48).

Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

5) God is love  (1 John 4:8).

He who does not love has not known God; because God is love.

6) God is immutable:  God does not change: his person, nature, purpose or plans:

Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above, from the Father of lights, in whom there is no variation, nor shadow of change (James 1:17).

—"For I, the LORD, do not change..." (Malachi 3:6).

My Resolution: I accept that God Father, God Son & God Holy Spirit are One God.
